Analysis of Essential Faith
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Now if Christ is proclaimed,
Being raised from the dead;
How can you be ashamed,
Resurrection as said.
If no resurrection,
Not ever Christ was raised;
Faith has no protection,
It is vain to be praised.
Then we bear false witness,
Misrepresenting God;
Your spiritual fitness,
Cannot honor and laud.
Because we testified,
About God raising Christ;
Then was He crucified,
In being sacrificed.
Not even Christ is raised,
No one raised from the dead;
Then we just are amazed,
They sleep on their deathbed.
Your faith is futile,
And you still have your sin;
Live in your lifestyle,
Stay corrupted within.
Then those who fall asleep,
In Jesus have perished;
No more able to reap,
The goodness they cherished.
But in Christ we have hope,
That others have pitied;
Through the toils, they cope,
When they have been buried.
