Analysis of Trusting the LORD
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Do not forget my teaching,
Let your heart keep my commands;
The effects are far-reaching,
Through each day as life demands.
Because of the length of days,
And all the years of your life;
Peace will be adding the ways,
Able to cope with the strife.
Let not steadfast love forsake,
Nor with mercy or the truth;
Engrave in your heart to make,
To remember from your youth.
You find favor and success,
In the sight of God and man;
Understanding that will bless,
And include you in His plan.
Trust in the Lord with your heart,
Lean not on understanding;
Which will give you a new start,
To know what is demanding.
In all your ways acknowledge,
He will straighten out your path;
Because He will encourage,
To follow and void His wrath.
Be not wise in your own eyes,
And turn away from evil;
For it could be a disguise,
That is worn by the devil.
It heals your flesh and your bones,
To honor God with your wealth;
As the first fruits that you own,
Are given for spiritual health.
Barns are abundantly filled,
And your vats bursting with wine;
Good fortune will be instilled,
Blessings from the Holy Divine.
