Sins To Admit Them Are Forgiven
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Before an anticipated evening meal is served.
With the host to announce,
A delicious chocolate cake had been made.
And sitting in places,
Around an elegant table.
Are nameplates easily found,
By relatives, neighbors and friends invited.
One question should be asked.
To prevent security guards,
Hired to prevent heated arguments to start.
Over who it had been to spread a lie.
About something they knew not true.
But had the nerve to accept an invitation.
Hoping,
To impress with their deceiving pretensions.
And not meant to offend.
Only to mention to clear the air,
Of feelings that may be negative.
To keep others unaware,
Who lies behind their backs to backstabbing.
'Hello everyone.
You may have noticed the security guards.
They are here to protect,
And keep the atmosphere clear to prevent...
Anyone from invoking to provoke,
Their acquired skills to introduce to us...
Ways to attract to themselves,
Attention and national media coverage.
Now remember,
We all profess to be 'Christians'.
And everlasting love to have for each other.
But someone here,
Has lied to spread rumors on others.
And...
Not to purposely embarrass anyone.
I have a list of those,
Lowdown nasty creatures.
Unless you all prefer,
A willingness to admit and confess...
Your lieing and evil ways.
Now...
Keep in mind,
Sins to admit and confess them are forgiven!'
'What kind of celebration is this?'
'Consider it a passage!'
'A passage?
A passage from what to where?'
'A leaving behind lies.
To realize how bad they are to digest.
With it to pretend,
Any mind is left peacefully at rest.
Let us all pray,
The day has come...
For confessions to welcome.
Since food to reheat is less tasteful!'
'This is not a celebration.
This is a deliberate 'outing!'
'Keep in mind,
This has nothing to do...
With anyone's sexual preference.
Or rumors to have heard them spread.
No matter how intriguing them to be.
We are here to celebrate acceptance.
Hopefully,
Without anyone arrested and sent to jail!
Denial to live kills relationships.'
'AMEN!'
'Thank you, Reverand!
