Which Way Is Up

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

This place we live known to us as Earth.
Both spins and rotates,
Around a massive fixed Sun.
We have been made to believe,
Rises at dawn.
Some say to witness at the East.
To begin a setting,
At the West to come.

Limitless is the Universe.
With countless of other Suns.
We are taught to teach,
Are stars above to wish upon...
When they are seen to fall.
Yet...
No scientist has proven to admit,
This Earth we live to inhabit it sits...
In the middle of it all.

'Which way is up?
To keep our heads uplifted?
And why do many say,
With it to leave wondered...
That a looking down,
Is a negative way to keep our focus?
When everything that nourishes us,
Does come from the ground.
And...
Around us all to be found.
With the only thing up to see,
Are many up to doing...
More of their misdeeds.
With this they do to have disbelieved?
Trying to convince,
Humanity is a man-made experiment!'

'Can you see,
The air and trees...
Doing their 'thing' to allow us to breathe?'

'No!'

'And why?
You might ask yourself?'

'I've never asked myself that.'

'And why?
That...
I will ask for you.
Well...
It is only our Creator can do that.
And mysteriously.'

'Oh.
So those who claim faith,
To have in our Creator.
Are not hypocrites at all.
When they or anyone plant misdeeds?
Fed to feed a fiction to delude?
While they harvest corruption and theft.
To exclusively feast upon that themselves.
Their one main objective.
Is to make people feel down.
With this done to keep,
Them from looking up and around...
For the truth and reality,
Of our existence!'

'Uh...hmmm...ahhh...er...ooo...ummm.
I don't know,
Exactly...
Where you are going with this.
Or if I should begin to play,
Hide and seek to be found.
Or just go along.
Until Simon runs out of stuff to follow.
But I refuse to leave,
My political affiliation...
A way for you,
To then discredit my religious beliefs!
Understand?'

'Uh...huh?'

'You folks are always trying your best,
To confuse those of us...
Who are certified and long lasting,
On the right siders of life to live it people.
With something more sinister.
Than maintaining our standards to value.
My thought process,
And I love to admit this.
My thought process,
Has always been happily...
Straight and narrow minded.'

'That has nothing to do,
With your tunneled vision.
All I asked was a simple question.
Which way is up?
And that was all.
Hello and goodbye.
Geeessshhh.'

'Oh.
Forgive me.
I apologize.
I misunderstood.
So...
You are asking me,
Wassup?
I got it.
I have not heard it said that way before.
Which way is up with you?
You know...
With all of us these days?
It's all about the weather,
And climate change.'

'I won't.
I can't believe this.'

'Do.
You better.
Trust me.
It's real!'

'Life to live it.
Doesn't get any clearer.
To make more sense of it.
One thing thought to believe meant.
Is quickly taken out of context.'

'Tell me about it.
There's always something that confuses,
Our minds.
That introduces to abuse...
Our understanding of each other.
With it done intentionally too!
It just seems that way.
It just seems people go out of their way,
Purposely.
Without thinking or using common sense.'

'Yeah...
That I do believe.'

'Thank you.'

'No need.'

'Should I say,
My bruh?'

'My...bruh?'

'Yeah.
Which way is up, my bruh?
You be cool and stay chilled.'

'I wish I could find the right words.'

'Backatcha!
Even I know that one.'
