Accepting Respect
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
It should not be difficult,
To learn and accept...
The meaning of respect to give it.
And receive.
Whether or not it is received as given,
This should not for anyone be a reason...
To believe they have been,
Entitled to unto others...
As they please to then leave.
Some freedoms to have them,
Has created turmoil and havoc.
With an ongoing division.
Among those in positions,
Giving their unsolicited opinions...
As to who has the right,
To freely do their wrongs unto others...
Sun up Sun down,
Each day and throughout peace less nights.
With this done to claim,
On laws of a Constitution.
Interpreted to fit lives fictioned to delude.
'Theft, deception and fraud,
Are Commandments..
Even claimed Christians...
Faithfully disobey.
While disrespecting the faith of others.
And hypocrites?
Deliciously devour their sins.
As if the doing is okay to do.
On Sundays to portrayed,
A childlike innocence praying to be forgiven.
For the misdeeds they do,
From Monday until the weekend arrives.
With a being disrespectful.
And deceivers who lie on a daily basis.
Where is the respect?
No one gives yet demands to get.
And how self righteous can people be?
When they accuse others,
For the doing of their own misdeeds.
With this doing to believe,
Words to express are more significant...
Than action contradicting,
What is observed to witness.
By those experts who professionally,
Continue to make excuses for themselves.
And...
Expect acceptance!
'How dare you,
Offend me with your cynical comments.'
'I apologize.
Had you preferred,
I appropriately kicked you in the butt?
Like I have seen you do to others.'
