The Reconciliation Message
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
To the flesh, we regard no one,
Although we once regarded Christ;
He is regarded as the Son,
That the Father had sacrificed.
In Christ, you are a new creation,
And the old one has passed away;
For a spiritual foundation,
Faith that is trusting to obey.
All of this is coming from God,
Who through Christ has been reconciled;
Reconciliation to laud,
To where you have been defiled.
God harmonized the world through Christ,
Not counting their sin against them;
That this world has made them enticed,
Would naturally condemn them.
We are ambassadors for Christ,
Through us, God does make an appeal;
Reconciled not to be enticed,
And increase your spiritual zeal.
He made Him sin for our sake,
Even though Christ knew of no sin;
We might be righteously awake,
As to have a new life begin.
