Class Reunion. To go or not?

Is it enough that
I showed up for
This dumb event.
Unrelated to any calendar season.
Just a reunion of classmates
Not seen for over
Twenty years.

We struggle to remember
The fun we had
Being rascals in between
Tests and essays.
There is Gordon
Over there and grey bearded.
He never studied much.
Played bridge late
Most nights before.
Then scored triumphantly.
In every quiz.

And sultry Rosemary
Called all shots in dating.
Not averse to a little frisky play.
Even to hold her hand
Meant electricity.
And shortened breath.
She is on top of her third husband.
This last one without
Church or formal vows.
Witnessed by anyone
Who might care.

And Ian the Class Clown.
He has retired
From working as Principal
In a major High School
In Scranton.
Who might have guessed.
He always held
Studies in disdain.
Always preferred
To joke around.
Only one chemistry teacher
Got to him.
Explosions. Lots of them.
